Teenager Arrested Over Mass Faculty Bomb Hoax


A teenager believed to be at the heart of a Minecraft gamers' dispute has been arrested after a mass bomb hoax closed hundreds of schools and colleges across the UK.



The 19-year old was arrested by Hertfordshire police after more than 24,000 threats were sent to schools warning of a bomb attack imminently unless cash was handed over.



The emails appeared to have been sent by VeltPvP which is a gaming network.  Best minecraft servers  is a Minecraft player-versus-player server, which is the kind of server that businesses make use of to sell their products to gamers.

These emails were sent to disable VeltPvP and were designed to cause the domain's abuse to be suspended.



The National Crime Agency (NCA) has stated that there was no real threat to the emails that were received this week.

In a statement, they said that they understood teachers and parents concern, but stress that there was no real threat to the schools' emails.



 However, we are taking these communications very seriously. We are unable comment further since this is an ongoing investigation.



Following the bomb hoax emails there were signs posted outside Cardinal Road School in Feltham



People involved in the squabble said that their adversaries had engaged in illegal activities to hinder each other's business.



When asked whether he regretted the effect the letters had on students who were forced to leave one of the hoaxers responded, "It is terrible, it's not the best thing."



In blaming VeltPvP the hoaxer claimed that the network was involved in a series of Direct Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, which he alleges were used to attempt to block other rival Minecraft servers.



Parents were asked to collect their children after the threat to bomb hoax in the email



VeltPvP issued a statement stating that they were being harassed and hounded by cybercriminals.



"We are extremely sorry for those who were affected by this, but we want to inform you that it is fake."



The email was sent to more than 400 colleges and universities across the nation. It claimed that the bomb was already planted and would explode if the money was not given.



Cardinal Road School in Feltham, west London was one of the schools sent the hoax email



Police forces from London, Bristol, Liverpool, Bedfordshire and the the North East were among those conducting an investigation.



Parents at some schools requested to to pick their children up due to fears about the emails.



Six schools in Hertfordshire were also affected: Abbots Hill, Valley School, Stevenage, The Sele School, Duncombe School, Stanborough School, Watford, St Albans High School and Valley School.
